Realign, Recover, Restore
ABOUT ME

I have always enjoyed swimming, yoga, cycling and hiking. When pain appeared, my initial response was fear and concern that pain might worsen. I paused and looked closer. I wanted to understand my body, alignment, and biomechanics. I wanted to help others do the same. This led me to study remedial massage and explore how pain limits movement.

Further training in Pilates, yoga teaching, and biomechanics shaped how I interpret pain. I now see it as information that guides better decisions. I use remedial massage, strength and conditioning, flexibility and mobility work, and biomechanics principles to improve movement and reduce pain. I give you clear education that builds confidence and supports steady progress.

I work with chronic pain, sports injuries, and workplace injuries. I use a simple holistic approach that includes alignment, body mechanics, and breath. I aim to identify what drives pain and support your recovery with practical guidance and measurable change.

SERVICES
REMEDIAL MASSAGE
What is Remedial Massage?

Remedial Massage treatment is aimed to reduce physical pain and discomfort, increase range of movement and mobility and prevent injury.
Our goal at The Fix Wellbeing is to tailor your experience to find the perfect fix for you. We take a holistic approach to recovery, rehabilitation, and massage by identifying your unique needs and focusing our treatment plans accordingly.

The initial consultation will involve an assessment and discussion to identify your problem areas. Further understanding your pathologies, we can draw from a range of techniques to provide the best solution in promoting healing and progress.

Your comfort is paramount, and we strive to achieve results using proven methods, founded by UpToDate evidence.

Remedial Massage techniques
After assessment, we will determine best techniques suited to you including:

SWEDISH MASSAGE
Swedish massage helps calm the nervous system in the body by increasing blood circulation, releasing tension and promoting a sense of calmness. Swedish massage also has many physiological effects in the body including increased blood circulation and delivering oxygen and nutrients to the cells.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage will work out the knots from stressed, overworked muscles and connective tissue (fascia) to alleviate immediate pain, as well as chronic joint and muscle pain. It also promotes faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
DRY NEEDLING
The practice of Myofascial Dry Needling involves the insertion of fine, solid filament needles, either deep within a trigger point or superficially in the cutaneous region directly overlying a trigger point. The purpose of Myofascial Dry Needling is to deactivate trigger points, therapy also alleviates associated pain.
CUPPING THERAPY
Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair.

MUSCLE ENERGY TECHNIQUE – ASSISTED STRETCHING
Muscle Energy Techniques can be used for any condition in which the goal is to cause relaxation and lengthening of the muscles and improve range of motion (ROM) in joints. Muscle energy techniques can be applied safely to almost any joint in the body.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
Strength and conditioning allows you to strengthen supporting muscles, even out muscle imbalances, increase mobility, correct posture, stabilise joints, learn new movement patterns, enhance coordination and peripheral skills, and so much more.

ELECTROTHERAPY
Electrotherapy is the use of electrical energy to stimulate the muscles fibre, helping to promote healing, reduce pain and inflammation.

MOVEMENT

Movement at The Fix

Do you feel unbalance or have an issue that just won’t go away? Learning to move better may be the solution you need.
The Fix Wellbeing aim to provide a nurturing environment where you can explore your physical potential, recover from pain or injures, help with posture and improve your overall wellbeing.
Movement education is individually customised, combining Strength and Conditioning, Pilates, Yoga, Stretch & Mobility. The intention of our work is to build a stronger connection between the mind, body and breath resulting in less pain and limitations, as well as more freedom to move in your journey towards optimal health.
The initial consultation will begin with a postural analysis and discussion. These will be used to find your specific needs and identify any conditions, goals and expectations you have. To conclude your consult, we will perform a few exercises to assess your current ability.

Movement techniques

After assessment, we will determine best techniques suited to you including:

PILATES
Pilates is an effective form of strength, conditioning and flexibility training. It is a mind-body exercise system designed to optimize physical fitness in people at every level of physical ability. You’ll develop optimal strength, more flexibility and balance, work towards a better posture and a better sense of wellbeing.
The Fix Wellbeing follows the STOTT Pilates method, which draws upon an inclusion of modern principles of exercise science, fascial fitness and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and most effective methods available.

YOGA
One of the first passions at The Fix. We are continuously drawing from yoga teachings to help increase body awareness and mindfulness to develop greater range of movement and balance to our body and daily lives.

STRETCH
Stretching and assisted stretch can be used for any condition in which the goal is to cause relaxation and lengthening of the muscles and improve range of motion (ROM) in joints. Muscle energy techniques can be applied safely to almost any joint in the body.

MOBILITY
Flexibility is our muscle's ability to lengthen. It's passive. Can you touch your toes while sitting? That's flexibility.
On the other hand, mobility is about active movement is about active movement. It's your ability to control and move a joint through its full range of motion. Can you lunge deeply and push back up? That's mobility.
Mobility aims to build strength and resilience at the end range of movement and improves neurological control, helping to enhance athletic performance, reduce risk of injury and prepare bodies for daily functional movement.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Strength and conditioning allow you to strengthen supporting muscles, even out muscle imbalances, increase mobility, correct posture, stabilize joints, learn new movement patterns, enhance coordination and peripheral skills, and so much more.

BIOMECHANICS
Biomechanics explains how your joints, muscles and nervous system work under load. It guides how you move, how you generate force and how you manage stress on tissues. We use biomechanical assessment to identify the patterns that help you and the patterns that hold you back. This gives you targeted training that improves control, efficiency and durability.
